AEG washing machine is filling up while it is not operational

Problem

• Water is running into the washing machine, even though it is not in use.
• There is water in the drum after the washing machine has not been used for a long time.

Tips

• Check if the water in the washing machine is clear or dirty.
• • The water in the appliance is clear: it is possible that the water valve is contaminated, preventing it from opening or closing properly. In many cases, this fault can be resolved by starting a short programme that flushes the inlet valve with water.
  • The water in the appliance is dirty: dirty water usually comes from the drain. Check the water drain and possibly the siphon to which the washing machine is connected.
