Maintenance tips from our technicians
We believe it is important for appliances to function for longer.
To help you with the proper use and maintenance of your AEG dryer, we provide tips.
De allerbelangrijkste tip !
Keep the instruction manual for your language. Place the other languages in a different location or throw them in the recycling.
Leg de gebruiksaanwijzing in uw taal op een vlot bereikbare plek vlak bij het toestel, zodat je ze weet te vinden en kan lezen wanneer nodig.
- During the drying process, fabric and hair are accumulated in the filter located in the dryer's door.
- When using too much detergent during the washing, the excess can also get trapped by the filter and even block it.
- If the filter is dirty or even fully blocked, the airflow inside the dryer will decrease and reduce the efficiency of the dryer.
- If the filter is fully blocked, the humid air cannot escape and droplets will form around the filter. So if you see some droplets, be sure to clean your filter.
- Did you know that clean filters also improve energy consumption and overall drying time ?
- You can also do a deeper clean once every while:
- Open the dryer's door and remove the filter.
- Watch out: pay attention that no fabric nor debris fall into the vent.
- Remove the fabric rests and debris from around the door as well, because they don't all get stuck in the filter. You can easily do that using a wet towel. Also inspect corners around where the filter clicks in, because someetimes it can prevent the filter from forming a correct seal when closed. If that happens, then the rests and debris will go straight into the second filter and block it.
- Some dryer models allow you to fully remove the filter to clean it.
- When cleaning the filter, be sure to wash it in order to remove any soap rests and to be able to clearly see through the filter.
- Dry the filter and put it back in its place.
- Tip: you can also quickly remove the big debris and furr after each drying cycle, it only takes a couple of seconds.
Clean this filter every time the dryer asks for it.
Open the flap under the dryer towards the front.
Take the filter out and remove any blocks of furr.
Clean the filter under running water and let it dry fully.
Tip: a filter like this is really inexpensive, so by buying a second one you can still use your dryer while the first filter dries out.
Tip: you can also wash this filter in the washing machine at maximum 40°C and maximum 600rpm.
