Common washing machine problems (symptoms + solutions)
The tumble dryer no longer dries (or dries poorly)
To check (simple and without risk):
The lint filter is clean.
The condenser / heat exchanger (if your appliance has one) is cleaned.
The water reservoir is emptied (for a condenser dryer).
The air supply/ventilation is not blocked (grills clear, appliance has enough space).
If the problem keeps recurring, there is a burning smell or an error code appears: book a repair with one of our experts.
My tumble dryer won't start
To check (simple and without risk):
The appliance is receiving power (plug is in properly, fuse/circuit breaker has not tripped).
The door is properly closed (door contact clicks in securely).
The water reservoir is empty and correctly positioned (for a condenser dryer).
The lint filter and condenser are clean (some appliances do not start when blocked/overheating).

My tumble dryer is no longer running / the drum is not turning
To check (simple and without risk):
The appliance is not overloaded.
The laundry is not in a ball (try to loosen the load and redistribute it).
The door is properly closed (door lock).
The lint filter and air duct are not blocked (overheating can prevent spinning).

Maintenance tips from our technicians
We believe it is important for appliances to function longer.
To help you with the proper use and maintenance of your appliance, we provide tips:
The most important tip!
Keep the user manual in your language. Place the other languages elsewhere or recycle them.
Keep the user manual in your language in an easily accessible place near the appliance, so you can find and read it when needed.
- During drying, lint and hair from the laundry are caught by the lint filter under the door.
- If you use too much detergent, soap residues can also clog the pores of the lint filter.
- If the lint filter(s) is/are clogged or dirty, this reduces airflow, causing the tumble dryer to work less effectively.
- If these filters are clogged, the moist air cannot escape, which often results in droplets being visible at the edge of the filters. So if you see droplets, the filters definitely need to be cleaned.
- Did you know that clean lint filters also improve energy consumption and drying time?
On a regular basis, you should clean them a bit more thoroughly:
- Open the tumble dryer door and remove the filter.
- Note: make sure that no lint falls into the open shaft when removing the filter.
- After removing the filter, also remove all lint from the door (with a damp cloth or by hand), as it is not only on the filter of your tumble dryer. Be sure to check the corners of the filter opening, as a buildup of lint in the corners can prevent the filter from sealing properly and allow lint to pass through. This lint is then caught by the sock filter (see further) and becomes clogged more quickly.
- With some brands, you can disassemble and/or open the lint filter.
- Remove all lint and soap residues with a soft brush under running water or with a damp cloth. You should be able to see clearly through all the openings. There should be no soap residues left in the pores.
- Dry the filter, reassemble it, and place it back.
- Tip: it is best to quickly remove the largest lint from the door filter by hand after each drying cycle.
Be sure to clean the sock filter after the appliance notifies you.
Open the flap at the bottom and front of the appliance.
Remove the filter and, if necessary, take off the plastic handle.
Clean the filter under running water, remove lint with a damp cloth, and let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: such a filter does not cost much. If you purchase a second filter, you can use your appliance while one filter is drying.
Tip: you can also clean the filter in your washing machine at a maximum of 40 degrees (600 revolutions per minute).
